Best Time of Day for a First Birthday Photoshoot (and Why It Matters!)

What is the best time of day for a first birthday photoshoot? The answer is, it depends.

On my booking calendar you will generally find slots for 10am, 11am and 1pm or 2pm. But how do you know which time to pick?

This is all going to depend on your baby and their napping habits and when they are happiest in the daytime. Do they get up super early and then take a big nap mid morning? Then early afternoon may be best. Do they normally nap all afternoon? The morning is likely going to be best.

I occasionally get a message requestion an even earlier session like 9am or a little later like 3 or 4 pm, when I do we adjust to accommodate for baby.

Scheduling your baby’s first birthday photos during their happiest time of day is ideal. This helps them to be at their best instead of being tired and fussy. In turn they have a much better experience at their birthday shoot.
